Gurdas Mann’s ‘Punjabi tunes mesmerizes Sydney

Crossing 60’s, but with no sign of slowing down, Gurdas Maan, popular with his fans as Maan Sahab, still zips around the globe with his dafli .

Punjabi singers have always maintained a strong-hold in the international market; while earlier they would perform in Punjabi-dominated areas, now they are performing in different countries.

Thousands of people had an evening full of fun and frolic with legendary singer and actor, Gurdas Maan, live in concert at Whitlam Leisure center on June 2, 2018.

It was one of the best concerts in years where the audience thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated every bit of the concert from start till end. The event was presented by SEEG Productions in association with Winning Smiles Dental surgery.
Maan got a standing ovation on entering the stage by the thousands who had gathered there to get a glimpse of their beloved singer. He acknowledged the welcome by bowing and saluting the audience from the stage. Cheers grew louder as Gurdas Maan took the center stage belting out his chartbusters for the audience. .
Apparently, Gurdas Mann is from a generation of singers when singers were referred to as Kallakars, and Mann Sahab is a Punjabi with a mutation of music genre.

When this legendary singer sings, he makes a point; and being the legend that he is, everything he says becomes a talking point. Yes, this legendary singer has a unmatchable charisma and he creates a strong bonding with the audience as soon as he starts singing.

The thing which differentiates Mann Sahab from most of his fellow Punjabi singers is his style of singing , he still sings Sufiana and Punjabi pop but with and point in it and touching poetry in it.

He went to perform one of the most popular songs in Punjabi, that highlighted little things that people can relate to. The audience applauded each move of the singer. Mela Char dina da , Heer , Sajna ve Sajna”, “Mitti”, he performed one after another super hit songs and people from all the age groups were seen enjoying his performance.

The Legendary Gurdas Maan gained national attention in 1980 with the song “Dil Da Mamla Hai, and since then, he has gone on to record over 34 albums. Maan has stood the test of time and is un-arguably the most notable figure in the world of Punjabi music. Maan has dominated the scene for over three decades and managed to attract and maintain a huge fan base in and outside of India.
Besides a singer, Gurdas Mann is also a songwriter, choreographer and an actor and has written around 305 songs.

The Punjabi sensation Gurdas Maan’s film ‘Nankana’ was also released during the concert and the first poster of the movie was also shared with the audience.

Directed by Gurdas Maan’s wife Manjeet Maan , the movie have their son Gurikk Mann as assistant director. Pooja Gujral and Jatinder Shah are the producers of the movie, whereas Sumit Singh donned the hat of co-producer.

The movie is already making headlines. After a long break of four years, the legendary actor-singer Gurdas Maan is all set to grace the silver screen with ‘Nankana’ and the trailer of the movie is set to be released soon.
