AIII geared up for ‘Holi Fair 2014’

Australian Indian Innovations Inc (AIII) in association with Sundrop Group is all set to organise ‘AIII Holi Mela’ 2014 at the Sandown Race course on March 16.

This is the AIII’s sixth year of staging the Holi Fair at Sandown Racecourse. The Fair, which will run from 11.30 AM to 8.30 PM, will be in two sessions.

The first session will start at 11:30 AM and will last till 4:00 PM. This session will  include Holika Dahan Pooja, Holi celebration with dry powder colours, sizzling Bollywood dance performances from Mandy’s Dance Academy and  to add flavour to the celebrations a vibrant team of DJ’s from Melbourne’s own ‘Desi Disc Jockeys’ will be there to entertain the crowd.

The second session will start at 5:00 PM and will last till 8:00PM. This session will feature a 3 hour twilight musical and comedy show with artists from Mumbai and Karachi.

The artistes include Abhinanda Sarkar (Female singer), Yashraaj Kapil (Male singer), Irfan and Ali Hasan Comedy ‘Jodi’ and the voice of Amitabh Bachchan, Sikandar Khan.

The entrance fee for the fare is $ 5 for adults and the entry is  free for child under 12 years (accompanied by adult) for both the sessions.

Basically, this fair will be a treat of colours, celebration, music and comedy by overseas artists in two sessions. There will be the usual variety of food and other general stalls for the public.

For kids, there will be special arrangement of rides. The venue has lots of free parking and also has an easy access to the Sandown train station on the Pakenham or Cranbourne Line.

This fair will be non- alcoholic even with full security and police.

This year, The platinum sponsor for the event is ‘Sunland Group’. Funding sponsors are the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) and the City of Greater Dandenong.
