Kamini Saberwal has been recently crowned ‘Mrs India Australia- Touch the Soul’ at a pageant held in Sydney. Born and brought up in India, Kamini has travelled vastly and believes that it has contributed a lot in shaping her personality. An economic graduate and a post graduate in HR, Kamini is also a painter and a model.

In a tête-à-tête with Public Telegraph, Kamini shares her experience of winning Mrs India Australia and much more..

Tell us something about yourself?

Being born and brought up in a family of a defense force person in India, discipline has always been a part of my life.  As the defense force person can be transferred anywhere in India, I have traveled across the country with my father and that I believe has helped a lot in shaping my personality. I am quick in making new friends and I am adaptable to new environments and these are my biggest strengths.

I moved to Australia with my husband who bagged a project here and since then we are living here. Currently, I have my hand full with my son, a full time HR job and  I am sparing some time for my hobbies modeling and painting !

For me, 2016 was full of pleasant surprises  and amazing memories. I won Mrs. India Australia pageant and alongside my paintings  were displayed at  two Australian Art Shows.

Who is your inspiration?

I am inspired by many personalities but Shah Rukh Khan tops the list . Shah Rukh has achieved so much over the years  purely based on his hard work. He has succeeded consistently against all odds and that is what motivates me.

What made you participate in the Mrs. India Australia Contest?

I have passionately supported causes around women and children and I believed this pageant would give me the perfect platform to be a voice for these causes.

Tell us more about your pageant win?

The pageant was very competitive where 30 contestants had to display their talent in four different rounds across an esteemed panel of  judges including Bollywood Star Karishma Kapoor. The pageant participation and win have been cherished experiences.

Do you dream of making it big in the glamour world?

My planned career choice was human resources. Getting an opportunity in the glamour world was not planned but has been a great and welcome experience.

Any message for married women, who aspire to win the pageant?

Tyra Banks, a supermodel has rightly said, “Women need to be the CEO’s of their lives”.   I  believe that while taking care of other responsibilities, women should not ignore themselves.  I strongly encourage that all married women o  follow their dreams.
