Nautanki Theatre’s launches its events calendar for 2018

Nautanki Theatre’s season event launch was held on January 21, 2018 and was well attended by the supporters and patrons.

Nautanki Company’s Artistic Director Neel Banerjee showcased the calendar of remarkable events that the company have lined up for the year 2018.

He spoke about how Nautanki has now an impressive presence in Sydney’s Short & Sweet festival. The very talented Sunny Singh along with writer Poorna Prakash will be presenting a brilliant play March 3, 2018 and March 4, 2018 at Tom Mann Theatre as Nautanki’s first project this year.

This will be followed by play reading of 3 plays in April as part of Drama~Sutra playwriting project. This fabulous playwriting project is first of its kind developing plays on South Asian diaspora in Australia.

Banerjee also mentioned the month of May as Nautanki’s official fundraising month. Unveiling another surprise from Nautanki’s store, Banerjee mentioned Melodies for Art; Avijit Sarkar’s living in concert exclusive for Nautanki Company which will be on Saturday 19th May at Riverside Theatre in Parramatta.

Nautanki’s vibrant Production Coordinator Reema Gillani did a short presentation on South Asian Theatre Festival, in language theatre celebration of South Asian diaspora of NSW. This year the festival will see its 3rd year in running and proudly continue a cross cultural and language collaboration while entertaining the wider audience. Nautanki’s annual production Curry Kings will be presented in 2018.

Nautanki Company is now a DGR endorsed organisation and  Neel Banerjee urged patrons to keep supporting theatre as performing art and donate generously so that company can run successfully in presenting meaningful artistic work and increase the number of theatre goers from the South Asian community.

This was Company’s first opportunity to meet and thank its supporters, patrons and media.

Nautanki’s team member Madhu Das and Anu Chhabra greeted the patrons who have been supporting the company through thick and thin.
