The NSW International Student of the Year Awards; set to be announced in Sydney in September 2014, will be presented in four categories:

  • Schools,
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET),
  • Higher Education and
  • English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS).

New in 2014, the NSW International Student Community Engagement Award has also been introduced. The new award recognises organisations and programs that help international students connect with the wider community.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Stoner said the awards celebrate the social and cultural contributions of more than 72,000 international students living and studying in NSW.

“We welcome international students and we value the diversity, fresh ideas and global connections they bring to our classrooms and our community,” Stoner said.
