IABCA held a networking event to honour 2018 finalists

IABCA celebrates migrant entrepreneurship and community leadership and its founder – Sonia Sadiq Gandhi is keen to enhance India Australia Relations.
The fifth Annual India Australia Business & Community Awards platform held an exclusive event in honour of their talented pool of 2018 IABCA finalists from across the nation. This intimate gathering bought together the who’s who of the Australian Indian Diaspora at a unique space, Nanda\Hobbs Art Gallery.
The event also acknowledged the valuable contribution that the IABCA board, national panel of experts, and ambassadors have made towards the IABCA platform.
IABCA Stars provided a great networking opportunity to meet with winners from last year, parliamentarians, and dignitaries from across the nation with 17 percent of the audience from interstate.
The event was also attended by Julian Leeser MP, Federal Member for Berowra , B. Vanlalvawna – Consul General of India in Sydney, Barry O’Farrell – IABCA Board Member, Sheba Nandkeolyar – (Chair )Australia India Business Council Ltd along with others who shared their views about India-Australia Relations.
Former diplomat, a journalist and author John Zubrzycki, who has just launched his new book ‘Empire of Enchantment in Australia and ‘ Jadoowallahs, Jugglers and Jinns: A Magical History of India from Emperor Jehangir’s fascination with magic to Motilal Nehru’s menagerie of magicians, dancers and artists, also spoke on the occasion and briefed a little about his book to the audience.
Sonia Gandhi, Director Gandhi Creations and IABCA said, “It is amazing to see the Australia-India space. We have great businesses in Australia and why are they great because the business leaders have a vision not to create an idea because they want to sell it but because they want to create something. The heroes of the last 20 years have been business and community leaders. The IABCA, platform gives these heroes a chance to act as mentors and as an inspiration to so many of us”.
“From the year of its inception, the IABCA platform has grown manifolds and has become a national platform with people from all over Australia being a part of it. IABCA has now grown to three events and is travelling across Australia. This year IABCA’s Gala event will be held in Brisbane on October 12, 2018.”
The IABCA gala event attracts an audience of over 500, government officials, business leaders and influential community representatives from across Australia.
Each year, IABCA receives over 250 nominations from innovators, businesses, professionals, and community leaders from across the nation.
IABCA ensures that finalists and winners are acknowledged throughout the year. In 2018 India Australia Business and Community Awards have been mentioned as a recommendation in the Peter Varghese AO DFAT report An India Economic Strategy to 2035 for both governments to support.
