Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach is the 10th site in NSW to be recognised as one of Australia’s top surfing destinations and named a National Surfing Reserve.
National Surfing Reserves are ‘iconic’ places of intrinsic environmental, heritage, sporting and cultural value.
Top beaches in NSW that have also been named National Surfing Reserves are:
- Angourie
- Crescent Head
- Lennox Head
- Cronulla
- Merewether
- Killalea
- North Narrabeen
- Manly-Freshwater
- Maroubra
- Bondi
Minister for Lands and Forestry Paul Toole said Bondi was one of the state’s most valuable Crown assets.
“I’m very pleased that this world-class surf beach has gained the recognition it deserves,” Toole said.
